Who is Bob Camire? Well, Robert Joseph Camire is a 16 year old striving to achieve a dream of making it to the top and playing in the lights. His parents are Jim and Rose and he has a 22 year old brother named Steven. He also lives with his grandmother. His neighbors, convieniently, and so encouraging, are his aunt Chrissy on one side and his aunt Mary and uncle Joe on the other side with their three kids, Joey, Billy and Nicole. And of course he would want some of his friends mentioned on here, they are: Dave, Brad, Nicky, Sue, Kim, Matt, Krissie, Joe, Carissa, his guitar teacher Rob, and all his friends from Xavier and Mercy. All of these people have been wonderful in terms of the support and encouragement they provide Bob with.
Now to his life and how IT all began:
It all started in the little ghetto town of Meriden, CT a few years ago... Bob's older brother Steve was still in college and stumbled across a little band on their way to the top called the Dave Matthews Band. Very slowly Bob became more and more interested in them, and it was evident to his friends more and more. Soon, it was obvious that Bob had an obsession! He not only listened to DMB, but he ate, drank and slept DMB. A few dollars later, his room was full of posters, paraphernalia and literally hundreds of bootleg CDs of this one band. Bob had found his hobby, a little bit different from normal hobbies, but it was his all the same. He began trying to convert his friends too, I myself was a little bit reluctant to give DMB a try, but Bob finally cracked me and now we listen to them together all the time. How is this relevant to anything you may ask? It is, trust me and read on...
Here is how he began to play guitar:
Bob was helping his mother clean out the attic when they found an old guitar that was badly out of tune. Bob decided he would fool around with it and see if he could make some noise sound good. His family members were proud of him, but didn't exactly like the excess noise in the house. He soon tuned it and fixed it up a little so that it became his pride and joy. Slowly he was teaching himself to play, he learned by ear and watching videos of Dave Matthews. It was amazing how fast he taught himself to play songs that actually sounded good! He started playing such hits as Crash and Tripping Billies and soon learned every DMB song ever played. He spent a while perfecting Dave Matthews on his guitar, and that was basically all that he played. Bob could learn other stuff very easily, but didn't really care to. He played a song or two here and there that wasn't Dave, but that was about it. He soon was receiving guitar lessons and playing better than ever. Bob bought a new guitar shortly after and never put it down, even to eat dinner. He actually ended up basically breaking the guitar because he played it so much. When he got a new one, as you can imagine, he played that one alot too. Of course, with the lessons and the effort put in by him, he naturally became very accostomed to all the chords, keys and music theory and became very comfortable with the guitar. He soon began writing his own music and lyrics. He now has four songs written and available for download on this site. Today he is always looking for inspiration for new songs and still loves playing.
He is presently starting a band with some friends called 'Walker's Appeal' and taking classical lessons. He has said that he may pursue a career pertaining to guitar in some way. The band members are Bob on guitar and vocals, Chris on bass, Frank on guitar, and Drew on drums. He is now playing solo acoustic shows at coffee houses and will be playing the first ever concert at Xavier/Mercy with his band, Walker's Appeal. Stay tuned for more details! Even if it is only a high school concert, everyone has to start somewhere...
